Homework for Tuesday, Nov 2nd
1. I think advertising make persuades the people to spend money on their products. By that, it needs more resources and energy to make those products for the citizens. In conclusion, if advertising makes people want to buy things and those things cost natural resources and energy, we'll end up with nothing left.
2. The people would probably not know about the sustainability of our consumption habits. We could learn about those things throughout advertisements by showing the citizens the positive and the negative side of an item they want to present. We could also research on our own to know more about sustainability.
3. Yes, they could use celebrity or put in models to make the items more worthy to buy.

CLIMATOLOGIST [Migration Short Story]
I’m Felix, Felix Hugh and I migrated from New York City to Los Angeles, California. My parents are climatologists; they are testing for the difference between New York City’s climate and California’s climate. Because of my parents’ job, I had to migrate and immigrate a lot. I think I’m getting use to this. I have to change school for awhile now since parents got the job. I usually am having trouble with finding new friends and meeting new neighbors. America is a mix cultured country so I don’t bother having any issue with people having religions or cultures different to me.
California’s weather is milder than the weather in New York City, my home. However, lots of Californians want to migrate to New York to have better jobs or lives, but because of its extremely worst weather. In California, at school, people avoided me because I’m a new guy who doesn’t know anything about the California’s sea and the people’s lives. I have difficulty meeting new people and friend. Most of the time, I couldn’t do anything except school work and reading books in my room. Because of my parents and my own goods, I have to stay and study here for couple of months or even a year until my parents finish with their tasks. Hopefully, I’ll find a lot of friends and my life in California will be much better. This internal migration could change my life and the way I see the world.

The "A" World
1. Location:
Arloss is one of the biggest islands in the “A” World. It locates South East of the A region. Arloss has 68° South latitude and a 50° East longitude. It’s the only place that has snow and ice.
2. Place:
Arloss is mostly mountainous. It’s full time winter in Arloss. There lived the Snowmen since year 120. The Snowmen eat snow and ice to live. People believed that the Snowmen must eat the whole ice land before they could move to some place else for snow and ice.
3. Movement:
In year 200, there was an Apple Rain from Aiie, that’s what the Alfian believed. Some of the Alfian must move to Al Dent to live. 100 years later, the Alfian started to open Apples facotreis to make Apple Pie and Apple Struddle around the “A” region.
4. Human – Enviroment Interaction:
After the movement of some Alfian, the people started to live near the water and forests. Water helped the Alfian to grow apple trees. The forests helped the Apple factories to harvest more apples for pies and struddles.
5. Region:
There are only two regions in the “A” world. One is the “A” region. Where there’s no winter and the people there mostly are farmers. The other one is the Arloss region, where it’s winter all the time; lived there the Snowmen since the year of 120. They don’t do much, they eat then sleep. They eat ice and snow to live.

What we’ve learn from the FAMILY TREE Project…
Each family has a different kind of tradition. The people do different things in different events of the year. Each family believes in a religion. Example, Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism [Daoism], ect. Vietnamese tradition is different from other’s places, everything usually not the same. Each person has a different last name. Mine is “Chau”, there’s a very few chance there’s a person or family with this last name. It came from Chinese. So we’ve learn some different cultures and traditions from the FAMILY TREE Project. By the way, they speak different language…

I've been to Hong Kong this summer (2010). It was a small city that I was in. However, the buildings were as tall as the Empire State Building.
The temperature was always hot. It was about 30 to 32 Celsius. I even had to bring Mom's umbrella w/ me when I had a hat on my head.
It didn't has a lot of rain, though, it was very fast. About 5 or 6 seconds then it's gone.
It's very beautiful, the scenery when you are at a very high point, the mountain, maybe.
The sky is always blue in the afternoon. It was still bright for 7 p.m.
The people there were look alike Vietnamese people, maybe a little bit more Chinese.
The traffic in Hong Kong was perfect for a small city. Cars were driving at 60 mph per hour. An the people were very polite. The weather was hot so the people must were shoes like Crocs (a brand).
There were lots of trees and there were bridges that crossed through the sea. That was pretty cool.
I ate lots of ice cream there. They were delicious. The trip was special because it was the first time my 2 cousins went on a plane. The air port was totally bigger than Vietnam's, but there were just a few people there at the air port. We had a lot of fun and i took a lot of pictures. I didn't have it yet because my Dad keeps the camera and the memory card of the camera. McDonald was also my cousins' favorite things. I was imagine how I felt about the first time I ate in McDonald with Peter Sang's family and mine. It felt great. I had the greatest trip with my cousins ever. :P

My name is Athrun, I'm from Vietnam. I'm 13 this year. My hobbies are playing computer games, drawing and reading books. My family has 5 members : Dad, Mom, little sister, and a baby brother. :P .My favorite subject is Science. I like to experiment things and find out how things happen. I dont like caterpillar, it feels creepy.
I also like to travel to new places. However, I've been to Singapore, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong. Their countries are so much better than Vietnam here. The weather in Beijing on Vietnam's Tết holiday is very cold and snowy.
I have an aunt that's from Norway and now is living in California. She divorced when I was 5. My cousins is now living in Norway with their Dad. They visit us, Vietnam, this summer (2010). They'll be back again 2 years late cause of the money problems. My family is complicated. A LOT.
I like ice cream, sometimes when my Dad is free, he took me and my little sister to a cafe or something to eat ice cream. my favorite flavor is cookie and cream. So that's me. Hope that I'll learn something new this year and make new friends. So, Ciao.
